Drawings for our Donation Quilt raise funds for the guild,
which includes a donation to the Seward County Health Department:
In 1995, the guild was instrumental in getting the cost of a mammogram
reduced to $75 during Southwest Medical Center's promotion of
Breast Cancer Awareness in October. There were so many requests
that scheduling was extended through November.
Each year since then N&FQG has donated to the
Seward County Health Department to pay for
mammograms for those who cannot afford one.
QUILTS OF VALOR
At the present time, many N&FQG members volunteer time and
donate fabric to make quilts and pillowcases for our servicemen.
The members work with the Quilt of Valor Foundation's local representative.
For more information about the Quilt of Valor Foundation

QUILTS AND PILLOW CASES FOR THE CRISIS CENTER
Members have made quilts and pillowcases for the
Liberal Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Center's
Children's Advocate/Risk Prevention.
TURBANS AND CAPS FOR CHEMO PATIENTS
An on-going project for many years has been making
turbans and caps for those undergoing chemo. These are easy to make
items that members get together to make or make them at home.
They have been distributed not only locally but also in several states.
